Janet Leon went on vacation to Morelia Mexico where she became ill. She was first diagnosed with appendicitis at the hospital and they removed her appendix. Less than 24 hours later she was getting worse so they checked her again and said they needed to perform another surgery as her intestines were leaking into her abdominal cavity. So again, she had surgery. Less than 24 hours after that, her intestines were leaking again so she had another surgery and they removed part of her intestines. Wiithin 72 hours she had 3 surgeries and then they said she would have to have a Colostomy. We knew we had to get her back to the US which cost $25,500.00 to have a Critical Care Flight bring her home to her hospital in Orange County. We were only to do this by getting a loan from a private individual but, we must pay it back. She arrived Tuesday evening and the hospital was great getting her in and evaluating her. However, we had to pay $20,000 just to the hospital in Mexico plus the flights for family to fly down to get her. Bringing the GRAND TOTAL to $45,500.00!!! The hospital was demanding money everyday. They even sent her mom to pharmacies to get medication because they didn't want to add it to the bill. We don't believe that was true. Janet was taken in for emergency surgery because of all the infection, that was causing her not to heal. The surgeon here in the US said that after she heals a bit and she is stronger she will have to go back for one more procedure. We thank all the people that have supported Janet and the family during these rough days, and all the prayers. Please join us in a night of laughter.
